Porter's Honoring Our Heroes
On Memorial Day, our Brand Ambassadors in our Andrew's, TX, location honored our heroes at the store level and in the community. The store displayed a dessert table with custom sugar cookies and decor for all veterans. "Sweets for our Vets" read a custom poster board; mini flags of the United States were set out for veterans to take home as well.
Ride To Remember
Meanwhile, our team had the opportunity to serve lunch at the Andrews City "Ride To Remember" event. The Andrews County Veterans Memorial Board of Directors hosted and organized the event. At 9 AM, several motorcyclists began their "ride from the Permian Basin Vietnam Memorial and ended at the Andrews County Veterans Memorial, where a ceremony was held in tribute to our fallen heroes. Followed by prayers, speeches, and the National Anthem, and scholarships were rewarded to students who qualified for having thier primary family that served.
Eight scholarships were rewarded to qualifying students.
452 motorcyclists rode in the event.
Our Brand Ambassadors made 600 Hot Dogs and served them with Chips and Chili for everyone who attended the event.
It was Porter's first year in participating in this event, and we had a great turnout. We are honored to be a part of something so special. It was a beautiful ceremony; we are proud to be part of a community that works together and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
